iPhone 5c features an all-new design crafted from a single, hard-coated polycarbonate body. It is a perfect Valentine gift, available in trendy colours
The iPhone clan has a new member, iPhone 5C – cute, colorful and advanced. iPhone 5c is built on a foundation of features people know and love like the beautiful 4-inch Retina display, blazing fast performance of the A6 chip, and the 8 megapixel iSight camera—all while delivering great battery life.
iPhone 5c comes with more LTE bands than any other smartphone in the world, a new FaceTime HD camera, and iOS 7, the most significant iOS update since the original iPhone.
“iPhone 5c is everything iPhone 5 was and more, in an all-new design packed with great features,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “iPhone 5c is designed with a beautiful polycarbonate enclosure that looks and feels so solid in your hand.”
Reviews of iPhone 5C on popular technology websites:
Forbes.com: “In fact the iPhone 5c has several advantages over the 2012 flagship in hardware and software. Because the iPhone 5c can be marketed as a new smartphone, it’s a far more attractive handset to retail stores and consumers than a twelve month old iPhone 5.”
The Verge rates iPhone 5C as 8.5/10 saying, “You might have some issues with this first iteration of iOS 7, and you might wish you’d bought a different color in a few months, but everything else about the 5C succeeds in bringing Apple’s message of care and quality to a new segment of the market.”
Apple Insider gives 3 out of 5 to iPhone 5C: “The camera is good, the network speed can’t really bet bettered, and you can run any app near the top of where it was designed to run. Remember to turn on Activation Lock in iOS 7, although you will have to bother with typing in a password.”
CNET concludes its review saying, “Much like the White MacBook was to Apple laptops, the iPhone 5C feels like a perfect cover-all-your-needs smartphone, offering the average person a complete set of tools to get everything done. The extras on the iPhone 5S aren’t necessarily ones you’ll miss: unlike like last year’s leap from the iPhone 4S to iPhone 5, all the basic requirements are covered.”
NDTV Gadgets comes up with the verdict, “While the iPhone 5c is a solid phone in its own right, with Apple choosing to release the 5s at the same time, comparisons between the two are inevitable, and that’s where it becomes difficult to recommend the colourful iPhone over the flagship. When you spend north of Rs. 40,000 rupees, you expect to buy the latest and greatest that a company has to offer, and the iPhone 5c clearly doesn’t deliver on that count.”
Striking features of iPhone 5C:
iOS7
Developed specifically for iPhone 5C, iOS7 offers a vibrant, lively interface and new features that take full advantage of the technology. IOS 7 features a stunning new user interface, completely redesigned with an elegant colour palette, distinct, functional layers and subtle motion that make it feel more alive.
iOS 7 is designed to complement the exteriors of iPhone 5c, with matching wallpapers and translucency that carry the colour through the entire experience.
iOS 7 has hundreds of new features, including Control Center, Notification Center, improved Multitasking, AirDrop, enhanced Photos, Safari, Siri and introduces iTunes Radio, a free Internet radio service based on the music you listen to on iTunes.
Powerful Apps
iPhone 5c customers have access to the revolutionary App Store, which offers more than 900,000 apps to iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users in 155 countries around the world. More than 50 billion apps have been downloaded from the App Store to date, offering customers an incredible range of apps in 23 categories, including newspapers and magazines in Newsstand, games and entertainment, business, news, sports, health and fitness and travel.
Colors and Plastic
iPhone 5C comes in five color options – green, white, blue, pink, and yellow. iPhone 5c features an all-new design crafted from a single, hard-coated polycarbonate body with a steel reinforced frame for a solid, sturdy feel. The steel frame holds the internal components and also doubles as the iPhone 5c’s multiband antenna.
The enclosure is one continuous and seamless structure that is finished with a hard coat for a durable and incredibly glossy surface.
To complement the all-new iPhone 5c design, Apple created soft, matte, microfiber-lined cases in a very intentional contrast to the glossy, hard coat finish. These sleek silicone cases with unique circular patterns let splashes of colour show through, and with five iPhone 5c colours and six cases to choose from, you can mix and match for dozens of fun combinations.
