Princess Rina of Crystalia travels to a garden of chocolates and then….
An enjoyable ghost story by Anusha Das for the LnC Special Edition of Ghost Stories by Children that came out of Ramendra Kumar’s sessions at the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival (SCRF) 2019.
Princess Rina of Crystalia was a curious girl. One day she was playing in the garden when she got hit by a stone. Suddenly, she felt that she was falling down and she was frightened. So, she closed her eyes. After sometime when she opened her eyes, she found herself surrounded by chocolate trees. She was scared and wondering what was going on when she saw a man staring at her. She was amazed to see that man.
He looked as if a pair of eyes, hands and legs had been added to a chocolate bar. She was a bit shocked. But she had to find a way to return home. So, she did not hesitate to ask the man how to return. The man said, “Who are you, monster? Are you here to kill me?” Saying that he took a few steps back. Princess Rina assured him, “Oh wait! I am not a monster.’’ And told the man her entire story. After listening to her story the man decided to help her.
The man took her to the magical palace where the King listened to what had happened and cast a spell to send her back to home.
Then Rina woke up. That’s when she realised that it had been a dream. “What a terrific dream I had,’’ Rina told herself.
Anusha is 10 years old studying in Grade-5 L in Our Own English High School, Sharjah. She has a keen interest in reading and watching cartoons and has proved her creativity when it comes to developing a drawing or a story.
