Veteran actors Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi playing grandparents of Rocky and Rani, make a comeback in this rom-com by Karan Johar, which promises to be fun and sweet with dollops of love, romance and comedy.

Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt play the title characters, who fall in love despite their different backgrounds and family dynamics. Tota Roy Chowdhury and Ronit Roy will also do their bit to add to the masti and chaos as the fathers of Rocky and Rani.

Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is a film that celebrates love, laughter and family. In Karan Johar’s signature style, the film, shot on exotic locales including Moscow and Jammu & Kashmir, intends to make its audience smile, cry and cheer for the adorable couple.

Director: Karan Johar

Animal

Ranbir Kapoor is all set to make his comeback in his action with his upcoming film Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the maker of the blockbuster hit Kabir Singh.

Since the film’s makers dropped a 1-minute official teaser on YouTube, the fans of Ranbir Kapoor went crazy.  Ranbir had two big releases last year — Shamshera and the blockbuster sci-fi flick Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva. This year has begun well for Ranbir with Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar with Shraddha Kapoor doing well at the box-office. Animal will be his other release this year and has created high hopes already.

Director: Sandeep Reddy Vanga
Music Director: Harshwardhan Rameshwar
Cast: Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, Tripti Dimri
Release date: 1 December 2023

Gadar 2: The Katha Continues

A sequel after 22 years! Moving on from the blockbuster 2001 film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which tells the epic story of love, courage and patriotism in the backdrop of the Partition of India in 1947, producer-director Anil Sharma is back with Gadar 2: The Katha Continues, which is set in the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War. The sequel marks the return of its original lead cast Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma.

The story revolves around Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) who returns to Pakistan to bring back his son Charanjeet ‘Jeete’ Singh (Utkarsh Sharma), who was left behind with his mother Sakeena (Ameesha Patel) in the earlier film. Tara Singh faces many challenges and dangers as he tries to reunite his family in the midst of an anti-India campaign, “Crush India”, in Pakistan.

Gadar 2: The Katha Continues promises to be a thrilling and emotional ride that will appeal to the fans of the original as well as new audiences. The film is scheduled to release on August 11, 2023.

Director: Anil Sharma
Music director: Mithoon, Chandan Saxena, Monty Sharma
Cast: Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma, Simrat Kaur
Release Date: 11 August 2023

Interesting FACT: Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal and Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 are releasing on the same date, and it would be interesting to see the clash between these two.

Jawan

SRK’s Jawan is the most highly anticipated movie of the year 2023. The Jawan team made the movie announcement one year ago on YouTube, and the intriguing teaser still of a heavily bandaged SRK signalled something big waiting to happen. The box-office breaking success of the action flick Pathaan added to the hype.

Riding on the frenzy created by Pathaan, Jawan is expected to have mass action scenes from King Khan. The teaser stills of the upcoming movie have got fans intrigued and media reports indicate that the trailer, to be released sometime in early July, is expected to be mindblowing. The director of superhit Tamil films Atlee marks his Hindi debut with Jawan. The films stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in lead with Shah Rukh Khan.

The Prevue of Jawan released on July 10, 2023 showcases state-of-the-art special effects, electrifying action and an intriguing peek into the film. Interestingly, the Hindi Prevue ends with SRK dancing in the metro to Hemant Kumar’s classic song from Bees Saal Baad (1962) — Beqarar karke humein yun na jaiye while the Tamil Prevue has SRK rocking to Gemini Ganesan’s blockbuster song Pattu Padava from the superhit Tamil film Then Nilavu (1961). Talk about catching the imagination of both the uber modern and retro lovers.

Director: Atlee Kumar
Music Director: Anirudh Ravichander
Cast: Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi
Release Date: 7 September 2023

Tiger 3

Salman Khan is back with a bang from his latest action-packed Tiger 3. This would be the sequel to the YRF’s spy movie Tiger Zinda Hai. Katrina Kaif would also be seen in major action scenes in the movie, making the movie’s hype even higher.

The Spy Universe is a shared universe created by Yash Raj Films franchise, revolving around fictional RAW agents. The highly successful franchise started Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and its sequel Tiger Zinda Hai (2017). Next came War (2019), the Hrithik Roshan starrer, which was a standalone film and did not have crossover characters. The SRK blockbuster Pathaan (2023) had characters from both the Tiger franchise and War. And now YRF is all set for the 4th film in the Spy Universe — Tiger 3.

Now here’s the trump card! Remember Salman’s explosive special appearance in Pathaan that had the fans swooning? It is SRK’s turn to repay with a cameo appearance in Tiger 3. And it is sure to blast the screen!

Director: Maneesh Sharma
Music Director: Pritam Chakraborty
Cast: Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Emraan Hashmi, Shah Rukh Khan
Release date: 10 November 2023
