100 years! Indian cinema has travelled a long way, through trends and genres, awards and box-office records, milestones and international recognition.
It’s time to look back, with nostalgia and love, on the films that touched your heart, made you think, sparked off debates, ignited trends, set the box-office on fire, put Indian cinema on the world map and became iconic.
Picking up just 50 films from this remarkable treasure trove of celluloid gems is a Herculean task. Learning & Creativity has listed 50 celebrated films, on the basis of their public popularity, national and international awards, and contribution in introducing new techniques of story-telling, acting, editing, screenplay, scripting, camerawork, the use of sound and music and path-breaking success.

Vote for the film you feel has surpassed all the others in impressing you, reaching the cult status and achieving a benchmark that is difficult to cross.
Isn’t it fun writing about the movie you love? Thinking about the story, humming the music, admiring the performances, smiling at the humor, wondering which were the best scenes…writing a movie review is watching the film again with new vision!
Write a review of the film you loved most. You can write on ANY MOVIE – the contest is open to movies from all Indian languages and NOT RESTRICTED to the 50 films selected by L&C for the Greatest Indian Film Ever Poll.
The selected reviews will be published in Learning & Creativity with your author picture and bio.
The selected reviews will be published in Learning & Creativity and the winners will be declared on November 19, the eve of the International Film Festival of India, 2013.
