If you’re looking for some fun and easy science experiments for kids then you’ve come to the right place. This video shows how to make a Lava lamp easily at your home.
Here’s what you’ll need:
A clear bottle
Water
Vegetable Oil
Food Colouring
Alka Seltzer
A funnel (optional)
Try with different colored food coloring and add more or less alkaline seltzer for varied effects. You can even put a lid on your bottle for use another day!
How it works:
When you add alkaline seltzer, the carbon dioxide that is produced rises to the surface bringing water and food coloring along with it. When the carbon dioxide is released at the top of the bottle, the water and food coloring sink back down because it is more dense than the oil.
