Dadasaheb Phalke

Two things are worth noting in Phalke’s filmography:
a) His entire content came from Indian mythology;
b) His visualisation of the characters strongly resembled the Raja Ravi Varma paintings.
None of this was co-incidental. In fact, both of these were the direct fallout of his association with Raja of Travancore.
