Nainital, also known as the ‘Lake District’ of India is blessed with the most enchanting scenic beauty. Considered one of the most romantic destinations, the place derives its name from the Naini lake ringed by hills.
Some of the important places in the district are Nainital, Mukteshwar, Bhimtal, Sattal and Naukuchiatal .
Some of the evergreen romantic films are shot in this hill station such as the Rajesh Khanna – Asha Parekh starrer Kati Patang. The song “Jis gali mein tera ghar na ho balma” captures the mesmerizing locale in all its beauty as Rajesh Khanna gently rows the boat along the taal, singing to his lady love.
