Udaipur also known as the City of Lakes is a city, in Rajasthan. Udaipur falls towards the west of Rajasthan, near Gujarat and is located 403 kms from Jaipur, 250 kms from Ahmedabad. Udaipur is the historic capital of the kingdom of Mewar in the former Rajputana Era.
Udaipur was founded in 1559 by Maharana Udai Singh II as the final capital of the erstwhile Mewar kingdom. The supreme valor of Rajput, Maharana Pratap ruled Mewar from Udaipur.
