Masked : A Poem

July 4, 2014 | By

Everyone is masked and should be unmasked,
As you always say

Mask

You see him camouflaged
And wish to remove the veil on his reality

You see him camouflaged
And wish to remove the veil on his reality
You think he is masked
And wish to unveil him

You are desperate to see his real face
But have you wondered if he is really guised?
He has to keep running to be safe
Safe – from people like you

For whom troubling others is fun
For whom chasing others and grabbing away their lives is peace
Just try counting the masks upon your face
Uncovering your truth is like counting the stars in the sky

Even if you are showing your unfeigned self,
The masks over it have already violated its purity
Go on raving about the masked
But actually the one whose authenticity needs to be unearthed is you

All your executed plans have failed
Still trying to capture him,
You have coerced him to put a mask at last
You have triumphed in this combat of masks

Everyone is masked and should be unmasked,
As you always say
He had to put a mask – because of you
One day he will be ruthlessly unveiled – that too because of you.

I love reading novels, writing, listening to music and singing. I am a debater and orator too. I aspire to be a successful doctor! I, from my deepest core, wish to do something for the welfare of this world. It is so beautiful; we can’t let anyone ruin its beauty even a bit!
