He is known for his pioneering contribution to introducing technology to banking in India and for setting up  the fastest and largest retail \u2018 brick and click\u2019 network for one of India\u2019s leading private sector banks in India .  Since his retirement, apart from consulting and writing, he makes documentary films. His first feature documentary, <em>Life in Metaphors<\/em>, won the National Award for Best Biopic in 2015. Since then, he has made films on brain cancer, Alzheimer\u2019s and <em>Yakshagana<\/em> under the banner of his production house, Reelismfilms.  In 2019, his first book, <em>Life in Metaphors: Portraits of Girish Kasaravalli<\/em>, was released.
