Docu-features including A Syrian Love Story<\/em>\u00a0by British director Sean McAllister,<\/em>\u00a0the Iranian director Rokhsareh Ghaem Maghami\u2019s much-lauded\u00a0Sonita,<\/em>\u00a0and fiction features -Thailand\u2019s first female director, Pimpaka Towira\u2019s\u00a0The Island Funeral<\/em>,\u00a0South Korean director JeonSoo-il\u2019s\u00a0A Korean in Paris,\u00a0<\/em>Rajeev Ravi\u2019s\u00a0<\/em>Malayalam film\u00a0Kammatipaadam<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/em>Mangesh Joshi\u2019s Marathi film\u00a0Lathe Joshi\u00a0<\/em>are among the highlights of the\u00a0fifth Dharamshala International Film Festival\u00a0(DIFF). The directors of these films will be present at DIFF 2016, which will take place from\u00a03 to 6 November 2016\u00a0in the beautiful mountain town of McLeod Ganj, Dharamshala.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

DIFF 2016 registration is open and can be done online on Book My Show.\u00a0Like every year, DIFF is presented by\u00a0White Crane Arts & Media, a trust founded by\u00a0filmmakers Ritu Sarin\u00a0and\u00a0Tenzing Sonam\u00a0to promote contemporary cinema, art and independent media practices in the Himalayan regions of India.<\/p>\n

At DIFF 2015<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, 5000 cinema enthusiasts not just from the local area but also from across India and the world watched films. Some of India\u2019s best-known film critics and journalists from leading media houses were on hand to cover the event.<\/p>\n
