Silent Call

September 10, 2019 | By

Two poems by Dr Ampat Koshy on the Sakhi that modernize the concept. Translated into Spanish and Hindi.

By Dr Koshy AV

Sakhi,
Revolution
Love
Wine
Women
Sex
Romance
Music
Poetry
I tried them all.
Nothing beats
Your silent call.

Translated in Spanish by Jesus Carranza (Director Commercial at IAS Proyectos, Mexico City)

Mi amada,
Revolución
Amor
Vino
Mujeres
Sexo
Romance
Música
Poesía
Lo he intentado todo.
Nada supera
Tu silencio.

Sakhi
between then and now
between memory
and reality
between what is and what could have been
or should have been
the gaps are so little
that there is a difference
but it looks like there is no difference.
I do not know which door to take
so I take the only one I know
of the tavern.
Give me drink,
let me sip
on your wine
not to forget
but to remember
not to get inebriated
but to get clarity
that the light that breaks in through the cracks in the wooden swinging door
of the salon
is not the sun
but the
glow
of the street lamp
all that’s left
which is yet enough
to still get me home
