Reminiscences

February 1, 2016 | By

A poet’s nostalgic reminiscence of her girlhood days.

sepia hued memories

Some rare moments
spent with myself,
aromatic brew of coffee,
frozen yesterdays waft,
sepia hued memories
smile back
from pages of old album.

Dates are in a mad rush
In a blink
years have passed
Swirling worries
have filled the space
left behind by
giggly girlhood days,
streaming playful rays
of early morn.

Simple joys
stand alone,
like a quiet station
forlorn,
as the train
whooshes past.
Fast.
