A love poem with classical elements/images from Greek mythology interspersed with the sensuous and sensual depiction of a woman’s body and persona, making this poem a luscious treat for the readers.
Poetry Month Special
She is a lonesome wanderer
dressed in hushed black eloquence
drifting in the vast intimacy of space
how fast the Earth stood still
taking deep breaths
her dawn kissed the dark sky
beneath her trimmed white lace
a skin so supple and silky
delicious fertile curves
and a garden of richest enchantments
where life burst forth from the dust
melody and harmony fused
echoed sweet in the virgin air
releasing the sacred fires
the first two embers blazed into one
limbs entangled near the edge of rivers
the Pishon, Gihon, Tigris, and Euphrates
there rose the sweet tree of life
and the tree that devoured innocence
as the Earth wandered weary for her home.
