Though Jilla boasts of huge star casts, it lacks substance. With its predictable story, it is a typical Tamil masala potboiler.
Jilla (2014)
Cast: Mohanlal, Vijay, Kajal Aggarwal, Mahat Raghavendra, Niveda Thomas
Director: R. T. Neason
Music: D. Imman
Producer: R. B. Choudary
If you hated Kick, Dabbang, Singham, Thuppaki/Holiday, etc., there is no way you will like Jilla. Boasting of stars like Vijay, Mohanlal and Kajal Agarwal, it had the star power.
While Thupakki and Thalaiva were engaging and won the hearts with its emotions and interesting plot, Jilla had nothing new to offer. The same song and dance routines with a rowdy son who turns good and wants his father to be good make it an overdose of typical Tamil masala potboilers.
Having watched some astonishing Tamil thrillers, this one fails to make you feel the same way. The movie comes across as a comic version of Thalaiva. Few reasons that spoil it:
Not recommended unless you have nothing better to watch or you are a Vijay/Mohanlal fan.
