We are warriors of light; we believe in miracles and hence miracles begin to happen.” We are INVINCIBLE. Yes, you too!
They are the sunshine when it’s cloudy
We always find people feeling hopeless, helpless, depressed, upset for various reasons and unhappy with their lives. They can’t find answers to their questions and solutions to their problems. With the shawl of pessimism veiling them; the fact ‘God doesn’t give you what you don’t deserve’ doesn’t come to their mind and they end up losing their faith. They complain, they curse, but nothing seems to work. Some end up taking their lives and many at the psychiatric centers. But we also find people being joyous, cheerful, ever smiling and making the world brighter with their presence.
They are the sunshine when it’s cloudy. The umbrella when it rains and the tissues to wipe away our tears. They live, not merely survive. Such people are loved and appreciated by everyone and obviously, don’t we too want to be like them? We all, unarguably, have shit in our lives but we have to deal with them and can’t just sit and watch things happen. Because we are winners. Quoting Paulo Coelho, “We are warriors of light; we believe in miracles and hence miracles begin to happen.” We are INVINCIBLE. Yes, you too!
First and foremost, we must have Faith. Faith on us and on the Almighty. Being in faith is like throwing a ball up in the air without having to look up to see if it will come back down. According to Martin Luther King, Jr – “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” None of us knows what might happen even the next minute, yet still we go forward. Because we trust. Because we have Faith. Reason is the enemy of faith. Don’t fall prey into its trap. Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God. Depression is the emotional result of hopelessness. Joy is the emotional result of hope. Peace is the emotional result of faith. And isn’t Peace the fruit everybody wants to pluck and store in their basket?
Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” – Martin Luther King, Jr
By Thomas Aquinas, “To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one who doesn’t have faith, no explanation is possible.” Very smartly said. People with faith act like intellects; within them stay both the craziness of a child and the maturity of a sage. Without faith, we become fools who forget the existence of the Sun behind the grumpy black clouds. As Saint Augustine says, “Faith is to believe what you don’t see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe.” A little faith will bring your soul to heaven, but a lot of faith will bring heaven to your soul. And we think taking three dips in the Ganga is sufficient! No offence.
Prayer is very necessary to gain more and more faith, and hope subsequently. The function of prayer is not to influence God, but rather to change the nature of the one who prays. It makes us strong and believe in ourselves because it increases our faith. If God brings us to it, He will bring us through it. He is always listening to us. One day, all our queries will be replied to and all our hope be fulfilled. He who created us without our help will not save us without our consent. We ought to trust him blindly because we know he is not going to break our hopes. He is with us, from our birth till death. So, the point is if we are with him or not…
A crucial part of faith is hope. Having faith leads to our hoping. Hoping for good. Hoping for what we want. Hoping for what we deserve. Our aspirations may seem IMpossible (read: I am possible) to the world, but our faith helps us in coping with those wrong notions. We can touch the sky, and soar even higher. There are no limits to our dreams. We are dreamers, daydreaming is our passion but we also work for those dreams to turn into reality. We see dreams of reality. Why waste talks in complaints, when unfulfilled desires stand at the door!
Look what happens with love like that.
It lights up the sky
Quoting Hafez, “And still, after all this time, the Sun has never said to the Earth, ‘You owe me.’ Look what happens with love like that.
It lights up the sky.” Love is the energy of life. It is about loving selflessly, without anticipating to be loved back. People who love you truly will love for who you are, not for who they can turn you into, I say. You received without paying; give without charge. What are we here for, if not to make life less difficult for each other? Love without conditions and you will be loved back endlessly. I bet. And everyone in your life was put there for a reason. Never ignore somebody. Everyone is equally important. Moreover, appreciate the beauty of this world. My friends laugh at me when I say everybody is beautiful. It’s not my fault if I find beauty everywhere. It’s theirs.
Words can make people’s hearts soar, or sore. Choose them with care. Think twice before you speak. We may remember someone’s sweetness or rudeness forever. So, don’t make yourself unforgettable for all the bad reasons. We needn’t be fake to please others, but isn’t it our duty not to add to the misery of others even if we can’t do anything to take it away? The only true currency in this bankrupt world is what you share with somebody else when you are sad. Respect emotions of every kind. We should always be sensitive, to our and other’s needs. We judge ourselves by our intentions and others by their actions. That is purely heartless of us.
Robert Louis Stevenson speaks – “Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant.” We must keep doing well, without expecting rewards of any kind. God will reward us at the end. Actually, anything given by us to the world comes back to us in different forms but we mortals can’t identify them. So, there’s no use sulking when the friend you helped forgot to thank. God will do it on his behalf, and with more gratefulness. He expects us only to fulfill the purpose of our lives and spread happiness around. Why can’t we complete such an easy task when we can do unimaginable things to impress the world though we won’t get anything back but praise? By the way, nothing sucks if you don’t give a damn about it. Be rocking, pals!
By Edith Edman – “Never doubt in the dark what God has shown you in the light.” Don’t doubt your own abilities and never ever commit the mistake of comparing yourself with others. You ought to be the best, but the best of you. Not the best in the world. By trying to be the best in the world, we undermine our qualities. Forgot the Classmate tagline? You are one of a kind. We all are special in our own special ways and we must respect our differences. Don’t cultivate crops like jealousy, hate and ego in the field of your heart. Keep it full with admiration, love and humility. You will never regret this.
Just like we shouldn’t underestimate us, we also mustn’t overestimate our capacities. Pride and weakness are Siamese twins. Don’t speak highly of yourself without any strong reason. Be as humble as possible. Even the haughty ones like the simple ones only. Simplicity captivates the most. We should know our worth. I am saying this both in the positive and negative sense. Without having much of brains, we should not wish to crack JEE or AIIMS. Without knowing the basics of music, we shouldn’t aim to be an international singer. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t dream. Dream, very high, and work for fulfilling it. Gather the required courage to take the first step and keep going forward. One day, you will be the king/queen of the world. I am not speaking nonsense. Anything is possible; what is needed is constant hard work, belief in your dream and lady luck favoring you.
We must keep walking, despite our road being unknown
The quest for happiness has always been debated about. It often sneaks in through a door we didn’t know we kept open. Quoting myself, Life will have power cuts, but power does come back. We must keep walking, despite our road being unknown – if it’s a two way or a dead end. We would get to our destination, no matter what. So, surrender yourself to God and you will be on cloud 9 every day! I believe that if we can’t find the key to a door, better break it! Why stress us so much? Life is so short – enjoy each moment. It’s not about the future, it’s not about the past, it’s just about making the present moment last!
We are never lonely. After all, People surrounded with good thoughts are never lonely. The winner stands alone. Paulo Coelho is correct. When you can’t even please yourself, how will you ever please the world? So, just be yourself. Those who matter don’t mind and those who mind don’t matter. As long as we know who we are, we don’t need the damned approval of others. Love for self is the highest form of it. Only if you love yourself, will others do so too.
Being an opportunist also matters. Luck may not be generous to us all the time but when it is, we ought to make the most of it. Quoting myself yet again; Life is a game, the world is the audience and we are the players. We never know who our opponent is; he is a part of the destined result. The weather and sports tools are destiny, and God our coach. How can we dare to disappoint Him, after He has taught us sweating Himself in the Sun just so that we emerge as the champs? We got to give our best – and if we do so, no one can come between us and our dream. The Hindi version of Paulo Coelho’s world famous The Alchemist quote helps me breathe when I feel like I am drowning, “Agar tum ek cheej ko pure dil se chaho, to puri kaynat tumhe usse milane ki koshish mein lag jati hain. Maine tumhe iss kadar chahne ki shiddat ki hain, ke puri kaynat ne mujhe tumse milane ki saajish ki hain.” Yes, I have to admit shyly, I am quite philosophical and romantic. Don’t laugh, I am blushing.
We don’t have a reason to party every day. We don’t get lucky in almost all lotteries. Many a times, we feel like we are defeated and can’t stand up again. We want someone to rescue us and make us feel like things will get better soon. But the hard truth is that no one can help us, not even God, until and unless we are willing to do so. And they key to this is self confidence. Lose anything in the world, but not that. It’s like being robbed off our own identity. Just like the fish is nothing without water, we are nothing without confidence (been there, done that) and…people (the good ones)!
Treasure everything and everyone. Who knows, you may lose them the very next moment? One who has confidence in himself will gain the confidence of others. We have to be happy to make others happy. We are never defeated unless we give up on God. He is the ultimate power. In His eyes, all his children are equal and He loves us all. We are winners, as long as we believe in winning. We don’t need to be successful in terms of what other people say, as long as you think you are the winner, you are! Everybody dies but only few live. Let’s be among those few. Let’s be INVINCIBLE!
