Europalia, a prominent international arts festival held every two years to celebrate the cultural heritage of one invited country, dedicates its 24th biennial to celebrate the centenary milestone of the Indian film industry.
To be held on October 4, 2013 – January 26, 2014, europalia.india will translate India’s immense cultural wealth into a multidisciplinary program comprising exhibitions, concerts, dance and theatre performances, conferences, cinema and literature events.
To be held in different cities of Belgium and The Netherlands including Brussels, Antwerpen and Den Haag, the festival will feature the acclaimed movies of Satyajit Ray, Guru Dutt & Anurag Kashyap.
Satyajit Ray’s Pather Panchali, Aparajito, Apur Sansar and Jalsaghar will be screened in the festival. The Guru Dutt’s movies chosen for the event are Baazi, Jaal, Baaz, Aar Paar, Mr. And Mrs. 55, Pyaasa, Sahib Biwi aur Ghulam and Kagaz Ke Phool.
